A teeth gap or diastema is a space between two teeth, commonly seen between the upper front teeth. It can be caused by genetics, jaw size, small teeth, or excessive gum tissue. While often cosmetic, untreated diastema may lead to difficulties with speech, chewing, and oral health.

Forwardly Placed Teeth(also known as overjet or overbite ) occur when the upper teeth stick out too far beyond the lower teeth. While mild cases are common and harmless, severe overjet can cause issues like difficulty chewing, jaw pain, tooth wear, and an increased risk of injury.

Crossbite is a teeth misalignment where the upper and lower teeth don’t align properly when the jaw is closed. This misalignment can occur in the front or back teeth, causing improper tooth overlap. Treatment options vary based on severity, including braces or surgery to correct the alignment.

An open bite occurs when the upper and lower teeth do not align properly, leaving a gap even when the jaw is fully closed. This misalignment can affect the front or back of the mouth. Treatment options vary, including braces, surgery, or aligners, depending on the severity of the condition.

A deep bite occurs when the upper front teeth excessively overlap the lower teeth by 2-4mm when the mouth is closed. This can make the upper teeth more prominent while smiling. Treatment depends on severity and may involve braces, aligners, tooth removal, or jaw surgery, requiring orthodontic evaluation.

Dental crowding happens when there’s insufficient space in the mouth or the jaw is too small, causing permanent teeth to overlap or misalign. As teeth compete for space, they appear crowded. This can lead to cleaning difficulties, higher cavity risk, and alignment issues.

A common issue in kids and teens is a small or protruding lower jaw, which can restrict proper breathing during sleep, leading to sleep apnea. In growing patients, this misalignment may cause problems. Fortunately, treatments like clear aligners can improve jaw alignment without surgery.
